Day 01
Modelling in Maya starts with the manipulation of the commonly known polygon primitives. This initial polygonal modelling is the base for the exercise of this day one: The Starship lowpoly model. This process involves the use of simple techniques and it results in elegant forms achieved effortlessly between the user and the software own algorithm. Mariana will go through the basic most important design tools, tricks and techniques she uses daily in her professional life. In the end of this day you will have the main bodies behind the Starship 3d model.
Day 02
On this day, you will be exposed to a more advanced level of 3d modelling workflow in Maya. The Startship Lowpoly model will be our base to upgrade the lowpoly mesh resolution to a higher and more detailed one. A denser mesh requires a different set of techniques. Mariana will teach you the most common tricks used in Architecture for Façade, Louvers and Mullions. The Startship model will arrive at a new level of refinement and detail after day 2. The final result is an elegant, spatially rich and formally complex.
